DECA State Championships

At the end of last week, 24 STEM students competed against over 2000 students in individual and team events related to business, finance, and marketing at Hershey Lodge as part of the PA DECA competition.

Below are the results from the competition.

Mini Awards Winners: Most events had multiple components. DECA honors students who did well in any one of the three components of their event. The components were either a 100 question multiple choice test or a role-play scenario given to the students 10 minutes before they had to present.

Automotive Services: James Armstrong  [Test] 

Financial Services Team: Abhiram Reddy & Rahul Rao  [Role Play] 

Travel and Tourism: Sarah Parks and Jordan Freud [Test]

Sports & Entertainment : Jake Walter [Test]

Principles of Marketing: Sophie Gelling [Role Play A]

Marketing Cluster Exam: Hannah Everett [Test] 

Business Finance: Thayer Leshko [Test]

Grand Awards Winners: The main awards ceremony takes into account all the components of the events and ranks individuals or teams overall for their event. If students received 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place, they are invited to the INTERNATIONAL DECA competition in Anaheim, California this spring.

Financial Services Team: Abhiram Reddy & Rahul Rao – 3rd 

Automotive Services: James Armstrong – 2nd

Job Interview: Amanda Boileau – Finalist [5th or 6th overall]

Buying & Merchandising Team: Morgan Mochulski & Adlai Metzger – 4th

Principals of Marketing: Sophie Gelling – Finalist [5th or 6th overall]
