Embellishing the Senior Mantle with artistic emblems has been a tradition at Downingtown High School since 1908. This cloak of honor is worn at the installation ceremony of each new senior class president. When the outgoing president removes the robe and places it on the shoulders of the incoming president, he or she is symbolically transferring the honor and distinction of Downingtown High School to the next class.
All members of the senior class are invited to submit an emblem design. Seniors vote and the most popular design wins. The emblem expresses the hope and aspirations of each senior class. Below are the entries for the Class of 2017. We cannot wait to see who wins! The winner will be unveiled to the public at the Senior Awards Ceremony in May and at Commencement for the Class of 2017.
