Here at the Academy our teachers are always looking for new and creative ways to work with students. A growing trend over the past few years in education has been “Flipping the Classroom”.
It is a blended format that allows for instruction to occur as homework, usually in the form of videos. Students watch and rewatch the video until they feel they understand the material. The next day with the teacher the class then performs activities where they apply what they were taught the previous nights.
Our Chemistry department has been a leader in the flipped model, including our own Mrs. McCafferty seen below introducing the flipped classroom concept to her students!
