STEM & East Swimmers Sink Records

Yesterday at the Perkiomen Valley Invitional, the Downingtown East Swim Team took home many first place finishes, broke several team records and three pool records.  Many of these accomplishments were done by STEM Academy students.
Tommy Cestare (STEM ’16) anchored the winning 200 Free Relay and won the 100 Free.
The East Girls 200 Medley Relay (Heather MacCausland – STEM ’19, Caroline Maki – STEM ’19, Tara Collier – STEM ’17 and Chase Umberger – East ’16) finished in first place.  They smashed the existing East team record and also broke the Perkiomen Valley pool record.  This was especially exciting because the first through third place teams all went under the existing record and they out-touched the previous record holding team in order to win it!  Heather MacCausland went on to win the 200 IM and 100 Breast individual events, both in times which crushed the East team records and Perk Valley pool records.  The four girls then combined in the 200 Free Relay which came in third and earned them the PIAA District 1AAA meet qualification.
