This week the Academy had its first ever homework hangout. The event was a variation on the traditional movie nights that happen here at the STEM Academy. Students and staff were invited to “hangout” after school and to work on their homework. Teachers from all subject areas stayed and offered assistance to students as they worked through their class prep work.
Everyone was treated to snacks of hot pretzels during the homework hour on behalf of the STEM Academy Staff. Following the homework help session, we started with a showing of Monsters University in the Knowledge Commons. Students and staff stayed and relaxed and continued to work on homework during the movie. After the movie was started the National Honor Society provided everyone with a bottle of water and had pizza for sale by the slice to help students power through the remainder of their work.
