STEM welcomes its first school visit of the year, Manheim Central School District and the Penn State School Study Council. Student Ambassadors Junior, Sophie Gelling and Senior, Reilly Rodriguez guided our guests throughout the building, from Chemistry through Engineering with stops along the way to talk to students and teachers. Dr. Carrier and and Mrs. McCafferty shared flipped classroom and whole class inquiry concepts with the group. The guests included Assistant Superintendent Peter Aiken, and teachers in physics, tech education, math and elementary school. Dr. Larry Wess, Executive Director for PA School Study Council traveled from Penn State with the goal of learning more about educational delivery at The STEM Academy. Said Dr. Wess: “Thank you for allowing me to visit your Academy today. It is very impressive and a great place for kids and for other schools to learn how to amplify their delivery”. The STEM team will be presenting at the PA Study Council at Penn State in November.
