The STEM Academy has an amazing program built into our schedules called Advisory and Seminar time. The main goals of the program focus on helping our students to build the skills they need to succeed beyond the classroom environment. For the first Advisory lesson of this year students and faculty discussed WHY we have our Advisory program and WHAT we hope to do over the course of the year.
This was followed up by a challenge for the entire Freshman and Sophomore classes. The students were spaced out over the hallways and worked together to create a moving system. The system required that green balls go left, but that orange balls go to the right. Nearly 400 students worked together and created a successful system and troubleshoot on the spot as they communicated and collaborated their way to success!
