STEM Students Success at Science Fair!

On March 3rd, STEM Academy students participated at the Chester County Science Research competition run by the Chester County Intermediate Unit. Sophomore, Rachana Mudipalli, won 1st Place, Best of Show, and The Richard and Patti Smith Innovation in Science Award for her microbiology research project, “Minimizing the Spread of Antibiotic Resistance Genes: The Development and Application of a Novel Screen Test to Identify pCF10 Conjugation Inhibitors.” Sophomore, Jake Walter, took 3rd place in Biochemistry with his project “Isn’t It Ironic?” Zach Kirk’s project on “Asteroid Mining Practicality” won 2nd place in the Earth and Space Science category. And, Jake Walter’s experiment on “The Effects of Temperature on Handwarmer Crystallization” won third place in Chemistry.
