ON Tuesday February 3rd the STEM Academy hosted its second open mic night of the school year. Students transformed the Knowledge Commons into an intimate setting recreating a small venue for students to showcase their various talents.
Most students performed music, either original pieces they had been working on themselves while other students performed covers of popular songs ranging from “Riptide” by Vance Joy to classics by Jimi Hendrix.
In addition to that we had spoken word poetry performed by several students and even an attempt at stand up comedy! The real star of the evening was the ukulele though which was featured by many students in their acts.including a cover of the strokes done only on the ukulele!
The event was well attended by students and their families as well as members of the STEM Faculty. If you missed the event it has been archived on STEM Academy Spreaker Radio.
