On Wednesday January 28th STEM students participated in assemblies from the Chester County chapter of Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education or NOPE. NOPE develops its presentations to be very powerful and to speak to students about what they can do to help friends who may be abusing drugs and/or alcohol.
The main focus of the message was three simple ideas. Be a hero, tell someone if you have a friend who is using drugs and/or alcohol. The simple act of telling someone can help save a life. The combining of drugs and alcohol can make a person overdose; One time can kill. Also, they informed students about what the signs of an overdose can look like and the importance of making the call that can save a life.
