The 13th Annual Downingtown West CHESTER COUNTY TURKEY TROT has already raised over $35,000 for Childhood Cancer Research, bringing our 3 year total to over $100,000. Everything about the event has become a community tradition, from the homemade pies to the old friends you share the holiday morning with, and we’d like to invite all of our Downingtown staff and families to come take part.
The Turkey Trot is a 5k Run / 1 Mile Walk and Kid’s Run held at Downingtown West High School on Thanksgiving Morning (November 27th) at 8:00 AM.
The race is hosted by the Downingtown West High School Cross Country Team, and benefits the team as well as the Cure4Cam Childhood Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by family and friends in memory of former DMS student Cameron Evans, a teammate and friend who lost his battle with leukemia in May 2012. Cameron was a gifted athlete and a compassionate, positive, and inspiring young man. His perseverance and spirit touched all of us. The Chester County Turkey helps support the development of new and more humane therapies for childhood cancer.
